Food is Life

Holistic Healing Lifestyle Avatar

For many many years, social and business enterprises have promoted or advertised certain foods as being *healthy* or *good* for us. There are many different food categories and many ways in which health is promoted via food. Most people are familiar with the food pyramid, an outdated and commercial advert for mass-produced foods, but still widely excepted as nutritional gospel.

Food sustains our life force or chi. It is also the reason that some imbalances occur in our bodies and create health problems or chronic conditions.

Have you ever wondered why some people can eat certain foods and not gain weight but others can’t? Certain experts would say it’s because of metabolism but the Chinese Medicine Theories may indicate something more.  Every*body* is different. That simple. Each person has different variables in their bodies and it is not just about carbohydrates or sugars. The five elements; Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood in Chinese Medicine theories suggest a connection to the traditional idea of variables, and finding the imbalance and re-balancing can be achieved by making alterations to your diet.

Fats are now considered good for us (only recently being promoted mainstream) and preferred for energy usage over sugars. Low fat/high sugar is a lie spread in the 1950s (by a narcissist sugar proponent) and look at the damage that has been done to the modern human; obesity, diabetes, and numerous disorders mainly from simple carbohydrate and high sugar diets.

It’s what society is doing now though that continues to shock me. There is a mindset that with these problems we have to do research so that more pharmaceuticals can be produced to ‘assist’ those with food-chi-element-balance related disorders. Completely the wrong way to address the issue. Sure, diet plans may be included in some doctors’ advice, but really finding the imbalances and reestablishing harmony and health in a holistic manner still seems to evade mainstream thinking.
